I am a teaching artist with 16 years of experience in arts education and community outreach. I specialize in working with K-12 students, using culturally relevant teaching strategies to help learners connect with their sense of self.
I am currently the sole member of the Visual Arts faculty at Everglades High School. I oversee the Visual Arts Department's Advanced Placement Portfolio curriculum, as well as the Two-Dimensional and Three-Dimensional Studio Art courses. I am a sculptor with a broad range of interests and skills, hold a BFA in Sculpture with a minor in Art History from The University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I have worked in art foundries fabricating and pouring bronze for public art pieces across the country before making the transition to teaching artist in 2010.
